Say YES to NYC's Homeless Pets This Year!

2017 Alliance Annual Fund A Project of Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals

Saving NYC's Homeless Pets

Every day, the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals works tirelessly to save NYC's most at-risk animals. Since our founding in 2003, we've successfully saved more than 300,000 homeless pets.

Our Wheels of Hope transportation program operates nearly 365 days per year, bringing at-risk homeless animals to our 150+ Alliance Participating Organizations, made up of rescues and no-kill shelters, in addition to foster homes and forever homes. Wheels of Hope is the only transport program of its kind. If not for Wheels of Hope, more than 10,000 homeless cats and dogs would not have the ability to leave the city shelters this year.

Our NYC Feral Cat Initiative trains and networks with thousands of Certified TNR Caretakers in New York City, working to reduce shelter intake by humanely reducing the population of community cats in NYC through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). The NYC Feral Cat Initiative will prevent thousands of kittens from being born on our streets this summer, and will save the lives of thousands of community cats.

How Does Your Donation Help?

By making a gift to the Alliance Annual Fund, you're providing funding where it's needed most.

Your tax-deductible contributions help to:

  • Keep gas in the tanks of our Wheels of Hope vehicles, providing life-saving rides to NYC's homeless pets and community cats
  • Provide life-saving veterinary and wellness care to adoptable community cats before they move on to their forever homes
  • Train NYC and outer-borough residents to perform TNR via the NYC Feral Cat Initiative, and care for community cats and kittens
  • Put on our signature Mega Adoption Events in Union Square and Prospect Park (each event finds homes for an average of 500 pets!)
  • Provide funds for emergency repairs for our Wheels of Hope vehicles so that we can continue to transport as many animals as possible — nearly 365 days per year

These vital programs are the backbone of our 90% community-wide live release rate in NYC. Your partnership and generosity will ensure that thousands of homeless pets get a second chance this year.
